Aquatic Milkweed (Asclepias perennis) is a perennial native to the wetlands of North America. This plant is a great choice for attracting butterflies, bees, and other pollinators. Beautiful white blooms in even the most shady, boggy corners of your property. Aquatic Milkweed is the perfect addition to any rain garden!  Also, it's been reported to have medicinal properties. 

 

The larval host plant for the monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus), queen butterfly (Danaus gilippus) and soldier butterfly, (Danaus eresimus). 

 

Aquatic Milkweed is propagated through seeds, which can be stored for up to one year and require cold stratification for germination.
