Cutleaf coneflowers are tall coneflowers reaching 3-6’ tall. They do best in full sun to part shade and are adaptable to most soil types. They prefer moist conditions and are tolerant of some salt spray. In North Florida leaves may be evergreen if winter is mild. Cutleaf Coneflower is a good wildlife attractant providing nectar and pollen for many insects and if you leave the flowers on to mature the seed the is eaten by songbirds, including goldfinch. Larval host for the silvery checkerspot, found only in extreme north Florida.
