Neocaridina Shrimp, Neocaridina davidi are a fantastic addition to your freshwater garden or indoor aquarium.
These hardy freshwater shrimp come in a variety of vibrant colors, adding both beauty and function to your ecosystem. Wild-type are usually a greenish brown, however, Cherry Red & Yellow Shrimp add vibrant colors to your water garden. Originally from Taiwan they have become a popular choice for home aquariums.
Why we love them:
Nutrient Recyclers: They spend their days devouring biofilm from
- Fallen Leaves
- Algae
- Dead Plants
- Dead fish
Excellent Tank Companions: Small but beautiful 3-4cm they get along with all tank mates and plants
Easy to keep: If they’re in an outdoor water garden there’s plenty of organic matter and microfauna for them to consume, no need to feed. If kept inside, try to match their ideal water paramethers and include lots of aquatic vegetation.
Ideal water parameters:
Temp: 20-24°c
gH: 3-11°
kH: 6-9°
TDS: 140-250ppm
Avoid large water changes as they are sensitive to changes in parameters
We recommend drip acclimation
NOTE: EXTREMELY sensitive to pesticides & heavy metals
Not only are they fun to watch as they move through the water, but they also play an important role in maintaining the health and balance of your aquatic environment. Bring these colorful creatures into your water garden or tank to add life, movement, and natural algae control to your space.
